    This is a one-year contract position at 100% time.

    Berkeley Law is pleased to announce it seeks applications for a Korea Law Research Fellow. Fellows must be committed to producing scholarship involving Korea, East Asia, or U.S.-Asian economic relationships involving Korea, which will help form the foundation for their entry into the job market for law teaching positions.

    The position is a one-year, residential, full-time position expected to run from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. Fellows are required to devote their attention to research and writing, and to contribute to the intellectual life of the law school. Fellows will assist faculty in administering Center activities and events and advise interested students.

    Berkeley Law will provide office space, an annual salary of $47,484 and benefits, and access to the UC Berkeley library system and resources for research. The University offers excellent health and retirement benefits which can be viewed online at http://atyourservice.ucop.edu/.

    Applicants will be evaluated solely on the basis of their record of academic and scholarly achievement. Of particular importance will be the applicant’s potential for significant contributions to research involving Korea, East Asia, or U.S.-Asian economic relationships involving Korea.

    Minimum Qualifications Required (at time of application):

    A successful candidate for the Korea Law Research Fellow position must hold a B.A., B.S. or equivalent degree.

    Additional Qualifications Required (by start of position):

    A successful candidate must also hold a J.D. or equivalent degree.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience such as a judicial clerkship, or professional experience in private, government, or international practice.
