AABA expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims of Saturday's shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue in San Diego County. The shooting was on the last day of Passover, a major Jewish holiday commemorating the liberation of Jews from slavery in ancient Egypt. The attacker chose a date six months to the day after the mass shooting at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue, which was the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the United States. The suspect apparently published an anti-Semitic and white supremacist manifesto online the day of the attack. AABA stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Jewish community, and we unequivocally condemn the rise of anti-Semitism and white supremacy.
