JOB SUMMARY:
Consider a challenging and rewarding legal career at the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC). We are recruiting attorneys to join our field offices in Oakland, Dallas, and Detroit. OSC’s mission is to safeguard federal employee rights and hold government agencies accountable. We are an independent federal agency and the government’s chief enforcer of prohibited personnel practices, particularly whistleblower retaliation. Our enforcement goals promote fairness, equality, and merit-based decision-making for approximately 2.4 million civil service employees throughout the government.
OSC’s field offices are small, stand-alone components within OSC’s Investigation and Prosecution Division. Staff attorneys handle employee complaints from intake through investigation and enforcement. They work independently and in teams under the direction of a field office chief.
This position will provide a wonderful career opportunity for individuals who share a strong commitment to fair employment practices, excellence in work, and having balance in their personal lives. We are a family-friendly employer and committed to supporting our employees. We offer flexible work schedules, work-at-home privileges, and a full complement of federal employee benefits, including health and life insurance, annual and sick leave, and, when budget allows, student loan repayment subsidies.
OSC enhances employee performance by striving for diverse, inclusive workplaces where employees embrace kindness, excellence, and public service. If you aspire to make a difference as a public servant and believe in the importance of these shared values, we would be very interested in hearing from you.
